We arrive back on main land and first things first, we are off to a pharmacy. With 7 days without bowel movement approaching, and no amount of water, fruit or veggies doing the trick it was time to accept pharmaceutical action was required. Bisacodyl tablets in hand, I’m just pleased it’s not a suppository, I gave up those when I quit my job (temporarily). More after sun also purchased, as I continue to peel like a snake.
We check in to the hostel, which is incredibly nice and good vibes. Our beds are located in a cupboard in another room, however I think this gives it more personality. That evening we headed out with others from the hostel for a night out in Cunggu. Me and Carley participated in the beer pong contest and somehow we actually managed to getthrough to round 2 (a small but mighty win for us). We meet some dutch boys, who I subsequently spend the remainder of the night with after Carley heads home. Me and Nicholas have a bottle tapping contest which unfortunately ends in a smashed bottle and some bloody hands. Carley, for i think, the first time ever stands for what she believes in after being shocked to the core by a 5000 IDR charge to use the toilets (a hole in the ground) and threatens to piss on the floor (didn’t go down too well I must say, but funny nonetheless). Mid nightout my St Christopher necklace broke, my thoughts are that this means i will die but i was assured by an aussie boy it would be okay, however my luck ran out the following morning with YET ANOTHER issue with my documentation for Australia! Saved by a lad who’s currently staying at the hostel, he lets me use his work phone to call around, leading to me sat down for 4 hours, slightly hungover, calling every nation, embassy and notary I could find to try and organise my paperwork before my deadline closes in 2 weeks. With multiple lads at the hostel in similar situations, struggling with loopholes in the Australian government, it’s nice to know I’m not alone! After a day of panic, the evening is spent with a face mask on and a chill one with some others, ready to be up bright and early to go and see a lawyer!
Carley, once again, taking one for the team, walks the 1hr trek to their office with me, skip forward 4 hrs and I get the ALL CLEAR from Aus that the paperwork is right! 3 more left to get sorted back home… (thanks dad). An evening spent at tanah lot, ends in disaster for myself. After being thrilled by the snake and not so thrilled by the scamming from the locals I leave feeling a little “off”, blaming it on my blood sugar I try to eat something, however it’s not long before the projectile vomit starts. Having already vommed in my bed once I’m relocated to the bottom bunk and spend the rest of the evening nursing whatever the fuck is wrong with me. The following day we were meant to relocate to Uluwatu, however we had to put this on hold as I was still bed ridden. Thanking myself for downloading netflix movies before arriving, I spent the day sipping juice and watching films. Managing to eat something in the evening without vomming, things were starting to look up.
The following day we head to Uluwatu for our final day in Bali, feeling better, but still a bit ropey. It’s another chill day, we go for breaky and then head to the beach. Potentially one of my favorite beach locations so far, and maybe one I will return to soon? Off to a local bar for a couple drinks, we run into Grace, a friend from Aus! What are the odds! 1 too many beers later and 2 hungover ladies are on their way to the airport, Singapore we are coming for ya.
