Truly wholesome and happy days x

🤍

The journey to Pai is known to be a horrible 3 hours, with most feeling violently sick with over 700 bends in total along the road. So I had prepared myself for hell… well guess who slept the entire way (minus the break) and according to others on the bus was practically on the drivers shoulder asleep at one point? This guy!! No trauma at all from the journey and mega refreshed from my long nap. During the break, an innocent and simple discussion with Thomas (his agreed psydoname for this post) about my sleeping habits leads to easily the most wonderful and for filling 48 hours of my journey so far.

I check into the hostel (for 1 night before I move to more wholesome vibes), and after dinner head out with Olivia and Neal.

A surprise reunion with said Thomas ends with 4am chats on deck chairs, sharing clothes and blankets, along with a packet of cigs. Sleep overs that lead to breakfast, that then lead to cancelling plans to rent a scooter and drive around the city seeing all the sights. The waterfall, the canyon, and natural hot springs. Smoothie breaks at restaurants with a view, telling eachother everything about our lives. Laughing at the quirks that subsequently show when you suddenly spend all your time with a stranger. Teaching one another about the things we don’t know (more the things I don’t know, I should say, he’s a very smart man). After sunset, two people sat reading our books and laughing at the potential elderly people we have become for the day. The late night discussions about why we are here, the crossroads in our lives, the planet and sivalisation itself, and if we could potentially meet again. A day of food, conversations with meaning and emotion behind them. We both have our plans, and both don’t really want to change these, but maybe as Thomas says “once apart, we’ll feel the need to get a flight”.
