My final days in Pia were the perfect balance of calm and chaos. From napping in a hammock to chill vibes in the country watching sunset. Chaos soon unravelled in the evening as me and kieran walked back into town… unaware of the bad driver behind, we walked along the grass, but soon entered the weirdest roadside experience of our lives as one lady hits me with her motorbike, causing her to fall off, followed by someone else ramming into the back of her! We’d soon find out they are friends, two hippies (pretty high hippies at that) on their way to a meditation retreat, their friend appears and some super weird touch/eye contact occurs for some minutes between the group as we stand and observe what is going on around us. Locals try to assist but no one is wanting the help. With no life threatening injuries we leave the scene, mind blown by how the accident happened and the dynamic between the group…
The events of the evening were beyond wild from here, meeting up with friends resulted in 4 hour walks around the city, me asleep in a treehouse and the others passed out in a hammock. Very potentially the WILDEST night of my life? How did the calm of day swiftly turn into such madness with friends? I am not sure, but it was FUN.
My trip to Bangkok was going all too well, with me having an entire row for both the bus and the flight. A dream you could say? Well this all soon ended when I experienced the worst taxi so far, a very rude man, who also ripped me off beyond belief. At 2am this was an incredibly unwelcome experience I must say. With 1 day in Bangkok I decided to just take the day to chill, see what I want to see and not over stretch myself before making the move to my 4th country of my trip!
I spend the day walking around the outside of the city, before somehow being roped on to a boat tour. This should have been 2000 Baht (50 whole English pounds) however my absolute refusal to pay such a price soon got this down to 600 baht and I was on my way. The tour was potentially the highlight of my Bangkok experience. On the river, in the villages and finally stopping on the floating market. Overall Bangkoks vibes are not so good, but atleast it has a good connecting airport!
