Vientiane: Sunsets, Temples and chill vibes.

To die for

My arrival to Laos seems to get off to a bad start at border control when I don’t have enough money to pay for my visa (whoopsie), this is quickly resolved though and from here things begin to smooth out. A quick taxi to my hostel and I’m off for a walk. I head to the main attraction of Vientiane first, The Pha That Luang, a huge temple just outside of town. It is honestly one of the most stunning temples I’ve seen so far and is well worth the £1.50 entry fee. On the way into the city I nosey around the local park, through the monument (which gave me huge Barcelona vibes) and to the markets. The night market has a huge selection of clothes and trainers and it takes a lot of self control to not purchase anything (mainly as I only have 2kg till my bag will be over the limit). After watching the most spectacular sunset and meeting so many doggos I head home for the evening, face mask and movie at the ready. Am I becoming an old lady on my travels? Potentially, but a wee bit of self care is vital when on the move!

My second day in Vientiane involved many temples, seeing some young Monks prepare to go to study, and a chill at the park, before heading to watch the sunset with the roomies. The sunsets here are truly incredible! The evening is spent sat in our bunks talking shit, while trying to kill all the mosquitos which subsequently ate my face the night before… I think my favourite thing about travelling at the moment is meeting other people that also aren’t prioritising the booze and are just here for the ride.

They are planning to take over the world
