The Blue Mountains: 3 joyous days filled with good views, good food, and lots of laughs

3 Squnity Eyed Gals

Our trip to the Blue Mountains began with an introduction to my aunties friend, a very lovely lady called Chris, who soon became a friend of ours too.

After the formalities, a game plan for the day was set. First up, lunch. Pie and mash at the local pie restaurant. Starting off sitting in the sun before wasps decided to come and attack, making us retreat inside. This pie set the pretence for the weekend, one being full of lovely foods, drinks, and funny times!
Chris then dropped us off at Wentworth Falls, where we completed a hike, spanning down the waterfall, back up and then across and over the cliffs. The evening was spent with drinks in hand, eating a very nice bolognese and having a natter about life.

Our second day in the mountains began with eggy toast, bacon, and fruit. With Chris having recommended The grand canyon hike to us, we set off to complete the task. It was a semi challenging hike, and we managed to complete it in two hours! Post hike snacks included cheese, hummus, and crackers. Before a dinner of pumpkin soup and kangaroo burgers. (Our first time eating roo, and it went down a treat!). The evening entailed a game of scrabble and a game of dildo. Dildo is a card game I learnt on my travels in Asia, one I become addicted to and have now passed this addiction on to Chris!

Our final full day in the mountains began with baked beans on toast, with me cheffing up my speciality, adding my own twist, and presenting my garlic beans with pride. Hopefully, having passed on this addiction as well!
The days hike was a made-up hike of ours to tick off some of the cool veiw points I’d seen online. Starting at sublime lookout, before off roading it through the cliffs to Gordon Falls, and then taking a very interesting track through what looked like the jungle to get to the three sisters and Katoomba Falls. It was a spectacular walk, and it ended up being the longest hike of our trip! Once again, post hike snacks included hummus and crackers, with a couple games of dildo! The evening was spent in an Asian restaurant, sharing a variety of meals, including duck, lamb, and chicken, filling our bellies and satisfying our pallets. Finishing the night with another game of Dildo and reflecting on the very lovely weekend that had been had.

The weekend was a joyous and incredibly wholesome time, with me and Laura well and truly being spoiled rotten! We shall most certainly be returning to Casa Del Chris’!
