Jervis Bay

The staycation to Jervis Bay started with the early morning drive down. It’s about a 5 hour drive from Newcastle, and to me, this was a long trek, but to a local aussie, this was easy. We arrived to find our very cute apartment, surrounded by trees and flowers. We spent the afternoon bike riding through the national park, along the coastline, and then up through the trees before finishing for sunset along the boardwalk coastline. Jervis Bay has some of the white beaches I’ve ever seen, and the nature there is really something. The day finished with bbq steak and salad and a movie night. The next day, we headed into the national park again, this time into Jervis Bay territory, which I learnt is its own state and not technically in NSW. We explored all the coves, spotted whales, and had a picnic on the beach, with card games, before a quick dip in the chilly waters. Another bbq was had, and another movie evening, with full relax mode, activated. Our final day was Windy one, heading further north so we could see the views, but being almost blown over the cliff by the wind, we opted to tackle the long journeys home. After arriving back to newy, and feeling like an agitated toddler after being sat in the car all day, a late night beach walk was required in order for me to feel like a normal human being again…
